It's pretty exciting that you can take a Metro right to Disneyland from central Paris and get there in about 45 minutes. We got up bright and early and by 9:30 am we were standing online at Crush's Coaster at Walt Disney Studios. For the next 14 hours (!) we were hardcore Disneyland Monsters, going from ride to ride in an endless cycle of fun and adventure. It was amazing. Magical. It was Disneyland!
But all this excitement makes you HUNGRY.
There are a surprising number of "fancy" sit down restaurants and Cafés at the park. You can dine underground on the shores of the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Or you can feast on a huge buffet, including langoustines and other gourmet delicacies. But we had no time for sitting and certainly no time for fine dining. When you are a serious Disneyland thrill seeker and you only have one day in the parks, you eat only to get fuel to keep you going. We wolfed down a three sauce fried chicken sandwich with french fries and a coke at Walt Disney Studios. We got an ice cream bar on the move, snacked on popcorn as we waited for the Indiana Jones and the Temple du Peril roller coaster. For dinner, we found a great "Pizza Outpost" in Frontierland, where we inhaled a 4 cheese pizza and a beer before rushing off to ride Thunder Mountain Railroad a second time.
Our advice....Disneyland is not the place for a Search for Delicious, it's all about a Search for Sustenance.
Don't go for any restaurant serving three course menu options where all the food has been shaped into mouse ears. Go for the hot dog, the pizza or whatever else you can pick up in your hand and eat on the move. Next time we go we might try what some of the locals were doing. We saw people who snuck a full picnic basket into the park in their back packs and ate baguette sandwiches while waiting on the lines!
